Building FAQ
We know that building a home or commercial space is a big investment, both financially and emotionally. That’s why we’re committed to making the process as smooth, transparent and stress-free as possible.
Here you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about working with Resicom, from timelines and communication to the way we approach design, pricing and construction.

Registered building company BC104050
ABN: 96 654 087 859
HIA member
All builds require indemnity insurance
-
Clients typically enter in to a prelim agreement where Resicom, a designer and the client would sit down and go over a scope of the size, design and budget of the build
As the designer is doing concept drawings, we are doing indicative costings so we can submit to the client a concept design and indicative price so we can keep it on budget and so there are no surprises price wise
Once the design is finalised and the price is good we would then produce construction drawings, engineering energy and BAL to be able to enter into a build contract
Once a contract is signed we can obtain relevant insurance and lodge for a building permit, during this phase we send our clients to meet with our interior designer to start making all selections
Our construction manager is Mark; he handles the onsite construction and supervision. He is assisted by Glenn who is our scheduler, estimator and client liaison
At the end of the build we do a PC (practical completion) client meeting onsite to go over any defects which we then rectify within 2 weeks
Then it’s handover time. We have a 6 month maintenance period and structural warranty for 6 years.
-
Clients can make as many variations as they like so long as the build hasn't progressed too far. We don't charge an admin fee for variations.
-
We have build times of 9-12 months depending on the complexity of the build.
-
You will communicated with dedicated members of the Resicom team throughout the building process.
Mark is the main point of call who is the site supervisor for all construction queries. Glenn is the contact for selections and variations, and Michael is the contact for any issues or contractual questions.
-
The majority of our sites are steep or sloping, within limited access or on rural properties. This is a particular area where we succeed, as we are not deterred by how challenging a site may be, whereas most builders would turn the job away.
